Edinburgh

Famous for its narrow winding streets, Gothic buildings and  palpable sense of history, Edinburgh with the Castle overlooking the city centre, is the prefect place to while away a few days exploring the sites, wandering the cobble lanes and enjoying some of the best bistros and restaurants in Scotland.

With Princes Street stretched beneath the castle, a few hours window shopping is a treat, before you stray off course to some of the smaller independent shops and cafes of the Grassmarket area.

By night, the same streets wear a different cloak, and the ghost tours are a spine-tingling way to enjoy the night scenery and delve deeper into Edinburgh’s haunting past before retiring to a cosy bar for a nightcap or two.

Bright and breezy the next morning, a climb up to Arthur’s Seat to view the city from above, before descending back into the city for a hearty brunch and a trip to a museum of art gallery for a relaxing day of Edinburgh’s hospitality.
